Springfield, MO. - Local and state lawmakers will be in Springfield, Missouri on Friday June 9, 2017 to proclaim June National Dairy Month in Missouri and to tour the facilities of Paul Mueller Company in recognition of National Dairy Month.

In 1955, Paul Mueller first started rolling his stainless steel milk coolers off the line and Paul Mueller Company has been synonymous with milk cooling on the farm ever since.

“We are honored to have a long legacy and partnership with dairy farmers around the globe and support their efforts to produce high quality food products for everyone,” said Gregg Shirey, General Manager of Paul Mueller Company Dairy Farm Equipment.
“Springfield is a hub of the dairy industry, from the processing equipment we produce here to Kraft Foods to the representation of Dairy Farmers of America - dairy is well rooted in our city’s history”

Members of the House Agriculture Policy Committee, Rep. Bill Reibolt, Rep. Hannah Kelly and Rep. Sonya Anderson as well as representatives from the offices of Southwest Missouri Congressman Billy Long and Senator Roy Blunt will join members of the Missouri Dairy Association as it tours the Paul Mueller Company plant on Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

“That Mueller name is seen on dairy farms around the world and those of us in Missouri are particularly proud to know our manufacturing efforts are supporting dairy farmers,” said Missouri Dairy Association Director Dave Drennan.

“MDA is committed to the success of the industry, which means promoting, protecting and enhancing the lives of our dairy producers in the Show-Me State”. The plant tour will show production of some of the large milk coolers that are manufactured in Springfield and shipped to dairy farms all over North America. After the tour the group will head to the Oasis Convention and Conference center for the proclamation presentation by Director Chinn.
