Utilizing the built-in heat exchanger, the Mueller Model D heat recovery system can be placed inside the building and the E-Star R-290 unit outside. By connecting the indoor heat recovery system to the outdoor E-Star using a water/glycol mixture, the interior of the building remains free of R-290 refrigerant.
